The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Allen Rubin Newsom, Jr., 47 years of age. Newsom is being charged with Aggravated Assault On Medical Staff. The arrest comes after an investigation in to the reported crime. The victim is a Security Guard at Bay Medical. He observed Newsom as he attempted to burglarize an automobile in the medical facility parking lot. The victim confronted Newsom and he ran from the area. The victim then pursued and caught up with Newsom. Newsom reportedly pulled a knife from his pocket and attempted to open it but was tackled to the ground before he could open the pocket knife. Newsom was arrested on May 24th , 2010 at approximately 9:45 A.M. without incident.
